portraying the quality of performance of staff.  Indeed, one of the disclosures made was that some 15.000 applicant files were treated at the Consular service during the previous year. “We have become victims of our way of serving the public,” top diplomat Evina, since up to 50% nationals who requested new Passports were residents of neighbouring countries including France, Germany and Italy.

Apart from the close collaborators of the Ambassador, the packed-full Embassy conference room brought together Cameroonians serving within the Kingdom of Belgium and the European Union in international organisations like the ACP and the World Customs Union.  Also present were Media personalities, Independent Entrepreneurs, Clergy, and the Military Attaché for France, Belgium, Italy and Luxembourg resident in Paris.   

It is an annual ceremony which is launched by the Head of State, following which the relay is handed down from one republican institution to another in hierarchical order. As for Cameroon missions abroad, they take their cue from the overarching Ministry of External Relations.
